Gillian Hart

Qualifications

  • Gillian Hart qualified as a speech and language therapist in 1986, obtaining a B.Sc. Degree in Speech Pathology and Therapy CNAA, at Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh.
  • She is a registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and is also registered with the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine.

Experience

  • Gillian Hart is closely associated with, and has several years of experience working at the Bobath Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy, London.
  • She has a regular private therapy caseload.
  • Previously, Gillian has worked in Special School Settings, specifically for Children with Physical disability. She has wide experience of working with children with a wide range of speech / language and feeding difficulties associated with Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Muscular Dystrophy, Downs Syndrome, Rare Syndromes as well as developmental delay.
  • Gillian has also worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a Child Development Centre in a hospital setting, from which she gained invaluable experience in early detection, diagnosis and onward referral.
  • Gillian also had the opportunity to work at a Communication Advice Centre where she gained experience in assessing and recommending children for alternative / augmentative communication devices and systems.
